IP54
All Insectron units have standard IP54 protection against water droplets and dust. IP stands for International Protection. The first number (5) indicates the degree of dust protection and the second number (4) stands for the water resistance. All Insectron models have standard (minimum) IP54 protection and are available with either a high-tension grid or a glue board. The IP54 units are specially designed for use in plants with a 'normal' (i.e. not completely clean) atmosphere.
IP65 / ATEX
The Insectron units in the EX range have IP65 ingress protection against water spray and dust. The first number (6) indicates the degree of dust protection and the second number (5) indicates the level of water protection. IP dust protection "6" is the highest dust protection possible. Due to the IP65 protection, the units in this range are ideal for use in areas where water is sprayed, such as dairy, livestock and poultry farms, abattoirs, dairy plants and fish farms, or in dusty environments like paper mills, board converting facilities and packaging plants.
In addition to IP65 protection, the Insectron EX units also have standard ATEX-certification. This allows them to be installed in potentially hazardous areas where combustible dusts can easily ignite, leading to catastrophic explosions. Examples include grain and animal feed storage facilities, flour mills, sugar factories, paper mills and large bakeries. The Insectron EX models have II 3 D and T105oC classifications and comply with EN 50014 : 1997 and EN 50281-1-1 : 1998.
Insectron is one of the very few insect exterminators on the market to have both IP65 and ATEX certification. The ATEX certificate was awarded by KEMA, the internationally recognised certifying body, which is a member of the European Network for Quality System Assessment and Certification (EQNET).
While Insectron 600 is only available with IP54 protection, Insectron 200, Insectron 300 and Insectron 400 can all be supplied with IP65/ATEX certification. For more information about ATEX certification, click here.
